Pinto Farm in Brackettville, Texas is a 500 acre jewel. The farm got its name because Pinto Creek runs through it. Pinto Creek, luckily, is one of the paths that the Monarchs follow during the Fall Monarch Migration.I look forward to the fall every year. The fall in Kinney County is the best time of the year. It's a feast for the eyes! The wildflowers are blooming. There are butterflies everywhere. It is finally starting to cool off a bit, sort of, and sometimes we even get a little fall rain.
Much as I like photographing the cows and the goats, in October I'm usually to be found right along the creek looking for Monarchs and whatever other butterflies may be gracing the wild, crazy goldeneyes that grow along the water.

Hi Genie, thanks for commenting on my blog and for the compliment. I don't eat beef, but kudos to you for raising it naturally. I will pass your site on to my carnivore friends. Those are some great wildlife shots, btw. Best wishes!
Thanks C-rock, yea, our first comment! I envy your blooming compost, I haven't composted in years. Squash blossoms are awesome!
